I am reminded of the quotes: "Be not afraid of greatness; some are
born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust
upon them." William Shakespeare
and
"Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity." Seneca
and
"“One aspect of serendipity to bear in mind is that you have to be
looking for something in order to find something else.” Lawrence Block

The greatness that was thrust upon him was hers, but by opening his
mind to the possible significance of his find he exposed to the world
something that the creator did not even fully expose to herself
(thinking of all the undeveloped film). To pick at him seems beyond
petty and seems to say more about what is between the ears of the
critic than the one being criticized.
