Hi, A nice feature of the AF280T with the grip and bracket is that you can press the release button and hand hold the grip and flash, and point it in the exact spot you want it, it works great. Right now, when I want to shoot something really close I simply use a large omnibounce card to reflect the flash light where I want it. You can see the effect in my "Orange" shot in a past PUG.
