How much "throw" of the sensor would you need to focus? a few cm? I wonder if you could actually sell fixed focus lenses (hyper-focal point, infinity, etc.) and let the sensor. If you could move the sensor fast enough, would there be any lens advantage? A fixed focus prime could be sealed pretty tightly.
