When I'm shooting in manual mode I don't notice any shutter lag. A few years ago, just before I bought my K100 I went out shooting with friends. For most of the day, I used an FZ50, and truly appreciated the live histogram in the viewfinder. At the end of the day, I ran a roll of film through my SRT-101 and was blown away by how much easier it is to see through the viewfinder of an SLR.
