I got out into the bright 80-degree sunshine today, and the interior of my 
16-50 fogged up after the lens got hot.  That was a surprise.

I took it off of the K7, zoomed it full-length and held it with the inner 
element facing the sun for about 2 minutes and it cleared right up. But that 
was another unexpected weather-related thing.

Maybe using the camera outside in a thunderstorm for 45 minutes is not 
advisable?  I sure hope that's not what Pentax would say.
