I couldn't get through the article before an ad popped up asking me to
subscribe... rats...
I'd love to be able to use this but it won't even let me read the
article... and I don't know what Adobe Air is but I'm pretty sure I dont
ahve it hehe.
There is a location in NY I'd like to photo when the moon is rising
(hopefully not at night full darkness) behind an
arch of the Manhattan Bridge (over the east river in NY's Chinatown)
or the sun rising there , even.
at the moment though do i have to subscribe to read the article?

G'day all
I came across this utility on the Digital Photography School's website.
Basically The Photographer's Ephemeris overlays
sunrise/sunset/moonrise/moonset directions over a Google Maps base, but
it can also show the direction of the sun and moon at any time of day.
It has other features that I'm yet to explore (such as finding when the
sun/moon will appear from behind a hill) but, at the very least, it
seems a useful utility to have on hand when planning a day's
photography.
Here's the link to the DPS article:

And here's the author's website for downloading:

The application is free and requires Adobe Air (there's also a paid
version for iPhone).
Cheers
