When I'm current on the PDML list, I sometimes take a few minutes scanning
dpreview. This AM I looked at a shot that received some criticism for including
extraneous elements better cropped off. The contributor cropped as suggested
(one side of a vertical, as I remember without going back to it) and re-posted.
The original critic responded with, "better, but the image now exhibits noise
generated from the cropping." Followed by the suggestion there had been an
excess of same.
PS'g noise generation? Hadn't noticed.
