I got a small glimpse of this recently. Sadly, at the time it did nothing for my sense of humour going up the A1 to see signs saying 'Appleby Horse Fair, Long Delays A66, and being committed to going across it to get to the top end of the M6. Fortunately, we went up as they were just preparing for their arrival, and we only saw a couple of horses - one of which was a tiny horse drawn caravan with a trucks rear marker board and painted in hi-visibility paint! I would have liked to have been there to not only photo the fair, but for so many points on what is a most picturesque area.
