I've got several commercial organizations that continually send me
email, which I don't try to "unsubcribe" because I think it just
validated the email address for them.
I don't quite consider these spam because they are places I originally
went to get information, but now that I'm done with them, I don't need
to be on the mailing list any longer.
BUT
A couple of them periodically send me emails to the effect that if I
don't to their emails soon, they're going to drop me from their mailing
list.
I routinely ignore these, but for some reason they never follow through
and actually stop emailing me. Prompted by I just got the fourth such in
two years from the same organization.
Not particularly upset, but it's kind of stupid.
