Boris,

Ghm, I am rather relaxed - and not very emotional about this case.
If I were that poor customer, - I would have been very emotional.

I was just surprised by the faulty logic.
Everybody makes mistakes (even I do :-) ).
But it is the attitude that matters when the mistakes happen.

I shop more than I buy. :-)
(luckily, I guess)

Igor, I am thinking that you're being a little bit over emotional here.
Here is an example for you. I just visited B&H last week (may be more
about it in my blog or here on the list). The web site clearly mentioned
that O-ME3 v/f magnifier was in stock. So I ordered it along with two
more items I thought I would buy this time. At the counter it became
apparent that it was in stock but some place in Brooklyn, not on this
very location. I was offered a number of options but I could accept none
of them because I was leaving in a few hours. I could have created a
scandal and shouted but it wouldn't help me, 'cause the darn thing
wasn't there. So I bought two out of three items on my list and went on
my way.

I do agree with you that "subject to change without notice" argument is
Stupid. My understanding that it was always meant as the lower back
protection, which is basically what's happening here. But, heck, this is
big business, they can sustain $40 (or whatever) loss and treat this
customer (you) in such a way that you would return and spend many times
over the sum in dispute.

As for hiding the prices from the web catalog pages... It is
inconvenient, but I don't give too much important to that. Though,
notably, I don't shop that much as you might be doing.

Just my cents...

Boris
