I  got extremely lucky with weather - it was raining in Death Valley
and the  colors were fantastic.

Yeah - rain there is much more interesting ! It rained the first time (1984) I was there too.
I like the "Artist" Palette" shot the best ... dunes nicely captured too...

And it was snowing in Sequoia National  Forest.

I did a poor job photographing what I saw, but  still.
