Everyone seems to have a similar story.

I was out in the bush photographing a few months ago and had to step
over a low fence.  My foot caught and my knee and camera both hit the
ground at the same time. I think the lens hood on the 16-45 saved it and
the camera from serious damage but the hood itself stretched somehow and
wouldn't lock in place on the lens anymore.  A $88 replacement fixed
that ($88 for a bit of circular plastic seemed a bit rich but what can
you do?)

The knee eventually recovered but I had a list to the right for a few
days...

Glad you're OK.  Commiserations about the camera gear.

Boy, do I wish I could say I only had 'A' similar story ...
