Thanks, Cotty. That is is bound to be the mount in the picture.
This particular lens is a Century Tele Athenar II 300mm, and this is
the bigger, faster version which I've only found referred to as a
T-mount lens, so the B4 mount is presumably a T-mount adapter,
exchangeable with any other T-mount. The big lens is f3.2 and easily
covers 35mm full frame. It's clearly bigger than the 16mm version
which came in C-mount or several dedicated versions like Bolex and
Arriflex and is f4.5 (more or less according to the mount) and looks
noticably different.
The really big Centuries were once regarded as the best big lenses by
surf photographers. I wonder if that reputation also held for the
relatively short models. It's probably worth the risk if the bidding
stays low.
