Thank you all, I've always liked that shot a lot and glad to hear it
wasn't just me.

It was a group of trees, I had to do it that way to visually isolate
the one. I still remember that day quite well; it was very windy and I
was fortunate to be out of the car at the right time or I might have
missed it altogether.

If you get a chance, go there - Corsica is gorgeous. But beware,
they're proud people there and you may find yourself being ignored,
scorned or worse if you a) don't speak at least french b) don't
appreciate their admittedly outerworldly delicious cheeses and meats
(on the island, sheep, goats and half wild pigs roam freely and feed
on herbs and chestnuts and it really shines through) or c) act like a
cliché tourist. On the other hand they will love you if you speak the
language and they're very pleasant company when they take a liking to
you.

And if you want to be in for a ride, go to Osteria U Mulinu in
Feliceto (dinner at 2000, reservation recommended). Joseph is a former
pro soccer player who runs his very own special show while his wife
cooks - you'll find yourself catching generously cut ham frisbees with
your plate, dancing, singing and old Joseph will fire his shotgun out
of the Window... it's a real blast. If anyone wants to go, i can find
you the address and number too. Oh and there's a Gault Millau hat and
the like shamefully placed next to the restroom door... yum =)

Cheers
Ecke
