Hi folks,

I hope this message doesn't come off the wrong way, it being my first post to this list in over five years. I'm trying to generate interest in an LX body that I hope to sell to offset the cost of a K-7. I was planning to put it up on ebay but I so dislike ebay these days that I'd be happy to strike a deal with someone on this list. I think it'd be a more fitting home for it anyway. I inquired as to it's value here on this list some years ago but I wasn't terribly interested in selling it then. Now that K-7 is calling my name at all hours of the day and night. ;-)

Now, I know that there isn't much interest in film cameras these days but I'm hoping that the somewhat unique nature of this particular body may spark some interest. Either that or some die-hard film guy or gal will just have to have it.

I purchased this body brand new from Yodobashi Camera in Tokyo in late 1999, along with an FA-1 eye-level finder and some grips. Since I bought this as a backup body for my existing LX, I never bothered to take it out of the box (other than the occasional cock/release of the shutter). Many things happened in the intervening years, but using this body is not one of them. So, today I have a 10 year old LX body that is still in it's original box and has never been used.

Before I get a lecture on the sticky mirror problem, I am aware of the various issues that have afflicted the LX. I won't guarantee that this camera is not afflicted (I couldn't because I don't use it), but I will say that in my very limited testing, it does not exhibit any of the signs. It is a very late serial number so I'm hopeful that this may mitigate some of these issues to some extent.

Anyway, I could go on and on about this but I suspect that there will not be much interest. If there is, I'd be happy to answer any questions and provide documents, images or other information. One big problem I have is that I don't really know what it's worth, save for recently completed ebay auctions, and I can pretty much guarantee that none of those are in the same condition as this one.

Thanks for you time (and patience),

Garth
