For some odd reason, Warners didn't include Barry Lyndon in the remastered 2008 DVD set, and darn it, it isn't on Blu Ray yet. So I picked up the 2001 restored version and plonked myself down with a bottle of red.

Even with the failings of the transfer (what is with the non-anamorphic enhanced deal?) that is one gorgeous looking film. There are so many scenes where I am catching my breath at the luscious bokeh to be had, and not just during the famous candlelight Zeiss f0.7 shots. A highly enjoyable photographic lesson, I think.

I tend to agree with Cotty about zoom shots, but this movie, and the first shot in Godfather should be exempt from the prohibition.
