As I have noted before, the 55/1.4 shows on the Pentax USA site as
available, shipping within a day of order. B&H does not yet have a
listing for this lens, and I asked them why. This is the response:

My reading between the lines: Pentax wants a reasonable profit. B&H
wants to have a low enough price to be able to dominate other
retailers. They haven't agreed yet.
Meanwhile, if you want one, buy at full-price directly from Pentax.
Or do as I did, have a friend buy it in Europe and ship it to you
here. The UK price is as low as £379 ($531) at Bristol Camera.
Unfortunately they do not ship to the US...
