If you were to instigate one, there's an approximately 100% chance that it woould be at a time and place convenient to you. The company is on mandatory 6 day weeks right now, and they've been buying lunch on Saturday. But I'd be willing to give up crappy pizza for good companionship. If I were to do it on a Sunday, my inclination would be someplace closer to Felton, which is more scenic, but less convenient for most. With the engineers at the company on long day schedules, they're also buying us dinner during the week, so lunch is a lot more convenient for me to have a social meal. I am 100% up front about the fact that I schedule these around my convenience, and enjoy the company of whoever shows up. As an aside, the sun keeps peeking out from behind the clouds, and when it hits some of the hills nearby it's quite pretty, making me want to grab my camera and go outside and play. After lunch I went out for what was supposed to be 5-10 minutes to play with angles on the hydrants, using my 18-250. The theory being that I'd see what composition worked and come back with a sharper lens when the light was right. As I walked out the door, a buzzard flew over about 5m above my head and started hovering over the parking lot next door. I ended up spending about 20 minutes shooting buzzards and wishing I hadn't left the 200/2.8 back in my cube. But it's a lot more subtle to walk through the office with a camera in my coat pocket than my camera bag over my shoulder. My current theory for shooting birds on a cloudy day is to manually set exposure just shy of clipping the clouds, wide open or close to wide open. I suppose I probably should have bumped the ISO up a bit as well. comments? Suggestions? Meanwhile, I've been using the katzeye for focusing as it seems to work better for me. Though maybe I should try AF-C rather than AF-S. -- Photographs are like sentences, the best ones have both subjects and verbs.
