He let  it go after 8-10 seconds, but he put a pretty good beating on it.

I have  seen them NOT let go a few times, this duck is lucky.

Wow. LOL. Wish you  had gotten all of the swan's neck (top part), but heck, 
that's a very unusual  shot. Heh. Didn't know they'd do that. 

They may look pretty (i.e.  whimpy), but they can take care of themselves, 
huh?
