I'll provide a contrarian opinion on this one Frank. As part of a
series, nice shot. On its own as you present it, I don't think it
communicates. This is one of those shots that relates to my bias
about captions or titles: I prefer shots that stand on their own.
Your shot the other day of the person at a table in the bookstore was
a very good shot, well composed, it told a story, you didn't need a
caption or comment. This one needs the caption/title, and I think
that makes it weaker.
Specifically, unless you had told me, I wouldn't know that this is
the "bottom" of a hill. Because it is a tight shot, there is no
indication of slope , and it could just as well have been a flat
field someplace, or a playground. The same shot, but wider with a
steep(?) hill out of focus in the background would have worked better
for me.
