Roman, What bugs me about this pic is that the bright white orb (which one wants to think of as the sun) has corners, so is a ghost image of the lens aperture. It's too big, as well.
I think that the texture that Luiz comments on is probably jpg compression of the frost-covered, very detailed, very contrasty foreground.
