In theory, you could collect $2500 from this caller for every call they made if your number is on the list. This threat usually stops any callers in their tracks - mucho apologies - no more calls. Charitable orgs. can still call, and the gov'ts.

It's worked for me for 8 years, through several moves. Note: as of February 2008, you no longer have to re-register every couple of years. The number is permanently registered.
