Yes, I have also always felt the 2:3 proportion to be too oblong for my taste in many circumstances. The 3:4 to 1:1 proportions fit more of my aesthetics better, and average losses in cropping from 3:4 to either 2:3 or 1:1 are less. It's one of the reasons I've been drawn to the FourThirds format, along with 645 cameras.

Of course, the only camera I have ever actually regretted selling was my 6x6 Hasselblad 903SWC... :-)
