About a year and a half ago I bought a 70-210mm Vivitar S1 2.8~4.0mm, mostly for fun. I haven't really wanted anything since, well a sensor upgrade, but the prices went back up on the K20D after Christmas, so I'll have to wait till it hits my price point again. I'm perfectly happy with the size of my cameras their low light preformance is good enough and they use my existing lens kit. I don't shoot anything for money that requires higher resolution than they deliver, more resolution would be nice, and if I got a job that required higher resolution, I'd build a new body into the price.
Be strong Dave go out and take some pictures. -----Original Message----- >From: David J Brooks <[email protected]> >Sent: Jan 16, 2009 11:02 AM >To: Pentax-Discuss Mail List <[email protected]> >Subject: Re: G1 equipment photos > >Thanks. > >I have not bought any camera gear for a while. > >Starting to twitch. > >Dave > >On Thu, Jan 15, 2009 at 6:32 PM, Godfrey DiGiorgi <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> On Jan 15, 2009, at 3:27 PM, David J Brooks wrote: >> >>> I take it these other adaptors are readily available. >> >> My Nikon and Pentax K adapters came from fotodiox, the Olympus OM adapter >> came from Cirrus, and the Pentax M42 adapter came from a no-name, all >> through Ebay. >> >> CameraQuest.com carries both RayQual and Cirrus adapters, IIRC, and various >> other retailers can order from the Novoflex catalog, including any mount >> adapters they might have in it. >> >> Third party to FourThirds mount adapters have been somewhat of a specialty >> item, not many retailers stock them even if they're readily available. >> >> Panasonic immediately made the FourThirds to micro43 adapter available as it >> is essential in their marketing strategy to provide a level of compatibility >> with easily available FourThirds lenses.
