Hello all...

I have an ZX-M and several flashes I use with it, including a Vivitar 285, a
Sunpack Auto 211, and a Vivitar 125. The 285 and the 211 both work well, I
have no complaints with them. I use all the flashes on-camera.

However, the Vivitar 125 (a puny flash in itself that I picked up in a lot)
causes the ZX-M to behave oddly. I mount the flash on the camera, set the
camera to its 1/100 flash sync setting, and fire away. The camera's mirror
flips up, the shutter opens and the flash fires, shutter closes and mirror
drops down. Now here's the odd part: before winding to the next frame, the
mirror goes up and drops down *again*. As far as I can tell, the shutter
does not open. Pictures taken with this flash appear fine.

Neither of the other flashes cause my camera to behave this way. Any ideas?

One more data point: If I release the shutter *before* the 125's capacitor
is fully charged (but almost), the mirror doesn't go through the second
"spasm".
