Here in the UK we are always provided with full, impartial evidence by
whichever government is in power. They want to make the best decisions
for the whole country, without undue influence from vested interests,
so there is never any spin, exaggeration, or stretching or bending of
the truth to suit political expendiency.

The newspapers are equally unbiased in the way they present the
information. Naturally they take a sceptical view of it - that's their
job after all - but usually the investigative reporters find that once
again the government has been entirely straightforward, so there is
little to report. The newspapers themselves, most of them owned by
enlightened philanthropists with white beards and a merry chuckle,
have no agenda other than the common good.

The advertising industry sometimes comes in for mild criticism because
so many of its claims err on the side of caution, and people may not
always realise how much their lives and the cleanliness of their
floors could be improved by buying the new, scientifically proven,
formulation of Whizzo!

Finally, the various religions are engaged in a continuous and rather
fascinating dialogue with our leading scientists to uncover the nature
of the universe and our place in it, without throwing overboard the
fascinating traditions, which contain much truth, that we inherited
from the Bronze Age herders of the Middle East who began this whole
enquiry.
