Since you didn't have to mess with the first drive before installing it, it's probably set up for Cable Select mode. Which means leaving the second drive as it comes out of the box, which should be Cable Select mode, should be fine. I don't know anything about Mac OS, though, so I can't offer any advice on partitioning and formatting the thing.
