This one is from 2006, out of the set of photos I'm experimenting on with Lightroom 2 Public Beta. I remember getting a very quick glimpse of this storeroom as I walked up the hill to the prison block on Alcatraz and going back to it. There was just a tiny crack in the locked door, so I jammed the camera up to the crack and made three exposures. The intense contrast was challenging to work with and I wondered how well I could render it with Lightroom 2 Beta's spot retouching tools. The rendering you see here I made combining results from Lightroom 2 beta and Photoshop CS2 ... I'm not familiar enough as yet with the LR2 Beta spot retouching tools to get the same results as I can with CS2 but darn they're very promising, the differences are small.
