Experiment! What do you have to lose? If it were still possible for me to be able to get around on my own, I would love to experiment, but my physical condition makes it difficult. I would think there would be a lot of dependency on how you convert to b&w. The effect is not only of the filters on the light, but also of the way the sensitive surface reacts to the tonality. Personally, apart from the curiosity value, I would probably use channels or something to get the same effect. I have experimented before with Lightroom by playing with the yellow and green channels.
