Well, not quite.
Kenny sez:
"Your equipment DOES NOT affect the quality of your image"

This is a direct quote from his website, and is bullshit. You can't make a 
generalized statement 
about quality without technical benchmarks being part of it.

Good equipment will make technically better photographs compared to lesser 
quality equipment, 
plain and simple.
Whether the photographer takes advantage of this or not is moot. Better 
equipment will give 
him/her an edge over what he/she could do with lesser quality gear, ergo, 
better equipment makes 
you a better photographer.
