The "new" Trek is night and day compared to my previous 1983 steel 
Takara.  One reason I think I like it so much is that the frame geometry 
is very similar.  I was surprised (I'm not much of a bike-technology 
guy) at how different carbon and steel feel on the road.

One reason living in the Mid-Atlantic has its rewards...  Don't like the 
weather, wait a minute.  I've been able to rack up a ton of miles on the 
Trek over the past few weekends.
