Well, I got myself a new CF tripod, and for less than I had expected to
spend. I took a chance on a relatively unknown, Adorama's new line of
"Flashpoint" tripods

Clearly Gitzo-inspired, even down to the model numbers. I got the 1328
for $299 and I'm impressed so far. Big and beefy and reasonably
lightweight. *Very* lightweight for its size & sturdiness, really.

Comparable in sturdiness to my Manfrotto 3021, but with *more* load
capacity and less weight. The leg lock system is better than my old
Gitzo (the legs don't rotate when you turn the locking collars), though
I hear the new Gitzos also work this way.

If anyone is interested in the old Manfrotto 3021 I'm selling it for $80.00

Good to know, Mark. I had looked at a Flashpoint for myself (a while back
when I was looking). I didn't realize Adorama made it. Glad to hear it seems
like a good buy.

Marnie :-)
