Not only that, but its very encouraging to see the performance of the new sensor. They have kept the noise lower than K10D despite having 40% more pixels, which means that Samsung has done a very good job with the chip.
Samsung is a very aggressive competitor, any market they take on they expect to dominate. I would imagine there is an even much better sensor in the pipeline, possibly FF. The probability of a K1D in the works is very real, now that we have seen what the partnership is capable of in a relatively short time frame.
