The 16-45 has much less depth of focus than the longer lenses.
Everything is a compromise, but I found I was able to bring my 12-24 into 
line without buggering up my 300/4.5, though I did way overshoot the mark 
the first time I tried the adjustment and had to dial things back a lot.
