For events like this, I generally use the FA 35/2. It's fast, yet it's wide 
enough to give you coverage in tight spots. Depending on the level of 
illumination in the room, it might be tough to get enough available light to 
use the 77 indoors. You'll want at least 1/60th shutter speed, even with shake 
reduction.
