Well, Tom has a point in that our discussions of booze sometimes border on the pretentious. But it is fun to discuss spirits we've tried and enjoyed. There have been times when I've been able to afford them and times when I haven't. But even in tough times, I enjoy hearing what others enjoy.
These times are tough times in Michigan. While I still make exceptions for the holidays, my scotch whiskey of preference for ordinary occasions is usually Lauders. It's the best scotch that comes in a plastic bottle. Twenty dollars and twenty-one cents for a half gallon at most outlets in Michigan. A bit less pricey than Lagavulin, which rings in at about seventy bucks a fifth, and it has the same mellowing effect. It also tastes a lot like some of the best blends. I'd say it's a cross between Johnny Walker Red and Dewars. Not as peaty as Dewars, which is my favorite blend, but quite palatable. Not a bad whiskey by any measure. No big sacrifice on my part. And should I drop it, the plastic bottle doesn't break.:-) Paul -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
