Wow, that's not much. 3.5GB is a little less than 2 rolls of 120 
scanned, or 7 frames of 4x5. Around 315 6MP Raw's. It is a lot of JPEG's 
though ( 1000 or so 6MP JPEG's).

UNless you go for archival media, the lifetime is likely 10-20 years max 
for CD-R or DVD-R's.
