After changing lenses a few times in the last week, always as
carefully possible, pointing the K100 down, there were a few blobs
on the shot taken after one of the changes. I didn't have a sensor
cleaning kit so I used the blower from a cheap blower brush and it
did the trick. Did I get lucky? Does the coating I read about on the
Pentax sensors make it easier to blow dust off? I assume it won't
always be so easy to clean, so are there any suggestions a to which
cleaning kit to get?

I like the visible dust brush. Seems to work. It's a little pricey, on the
other hand, I view the sensor as being something rather important that I want
to protect. Also there is no liquid and/or canned air involved, both of which
make me a little queasy. Since I am not especially good with liquids and
tend to overdo air.

I worry sometimes the brush is just moving the dust around inside, so I
upend the camera right afterward. OTOH, it builds up static, which is the
point,
so it should literally be picking the dust up. After all what can look HUGE
in a picture, is actually very tiny.

Hope that helps. Marnie aka Doe :-)
