John, Yes, Hawaii has about 6 miles of Interstate Highway (if I remember correctly). Everybody has to get their political pork. And I don't believe 1 mile out of every 5 has to be straight. (I've probably been on 20,000 of the 42,000 miles of interstate in the USA.) Regards, Bob S.
