Several years ago, early 90's, I was working at a small airport and got to know quite a few pilots on a first name basis. One of them once told me that while on an instrument approach into PIT, someone turned on a cell phone and really interfered with the ILS. Granted this was early 90's and the aircraft involved was a Swearingen Metro commuter turbo prop.
