Any picture which so strongly shows anyone smoking has your own subconscious views of smoking imprinted in it, before you see the photograph and look at it as just that, a photograph. Not one of my own friends smoke, I've never tried it, as the thought of putting something into my face and then setting fire to that thing is mildly ludicrous.
