I have no experience with the FA-J lens, but the 80-320 was a pretty nice performer for a low-cost lens when I tested it against the A70-210 and F100-300. I had the DA50-200 for a bit, sold it as I found I wasn't using it either. My problem with most of these lenses is that they are too slow for my needs/desires. I only occasionally have need for such a long focal length and can't afford the extravagance of a multi-thousand dollar fast, long lens for the amount that I actually use one. I solved the problem by using a Nikkor 180/2.8AI adapted to the Panasonic L1, which cost me a total of $150 including the mount adapter. My recent PESO, the train shot at http://homepage.mac.com/ramarren/photo/PAW7/37c.htm was made with this excellent old lens.
