My feelings about all that are pretty mixed. But, if you think people should die to compensate for animals suffering (and I tend to agree), then it is nice to think of all the people dying of heart and related diseases caused by the consumption of feedlot grown, grain and garbage-fed cattle. Now *those* cows suffer constantly during their lifetimes. What wouldn't they give to live as good as fighting bulls do, for the simple price of dying in one quick, tragic day in front of a crowd in Spain.
Still, you're right, bullfighting and all that is primitive and unnecessary. That's part of what attracts me to it in a way: it is something that arguably might disappear within our lifetimes. Andalucia would go to war before stopping bullfighting, but still. j On 8/19/07, William Robb <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Juan Buhler" > Subject: GESO: Running with bulls > > > > Last month I posted here a couple of pictures of the encierros in > > Pamplona. > > > > Here is the full series, edited down to twelve pictures: > > > > thumbnails: > > http://www.jbuhler.com/html/enc.html > > > > flash gallery: > > http://www.jbuhler.com/f/enc/index.html > > > > The humane genome would be greatly improved if more people were killed while > partaking in this activity. > > William Robb > > > -- > PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List > [email protected] > http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net > -- Juan Buhler - http://www.jbuhler.com photoblog: http://photoblog.jbuhler.com a book: http://www.jbuhler.com/book.html -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
