I don't quite understand how you folks do this. I've been punching SD  
cards into and out of cameras and readers (and Treo and other  
devices) for 5 years now and none have gotten damaged yet.

I even *use* the write protect switch now and then ... it's saved my  
butt a couple of times when I got forgetful. :-)

See if the card is still under warranty and get a new one. At $20 for  
a 2G card, it's not what I'd call a huge loss. Back when a 32M card  
was $150, yeah, I'd get annoyed... !
