I would be in awe too, but I've never met such a person. Never the less, that does not negate or diminish what I said.
Another observation I've made (I may be wrong) is that necessity really is the mother of invention. It may be unfortunate that extreme necessities may have to come about, but it is not in man's nature to make drastic changes without a drastic stimulus. Like they say in AA, "Give us a rut and we'll not only move in, we'll furnish it!" Whatever situation anyone proposes, it has to take into account human nature, else it's doomed to fail no matter how elegant proposal, no matter how well executed the attempt. People are greedy and as soon as it becomes profitable to use other sources of energy, someone will start selling it at a profit and will invent new ways of obtaining and using it at lower cost so they can sell more and make even more profit. They may become wealthier than God, but still, we'll all benefit because their greed will be turned to a force for ultimate good. "A rising tide lifts all boats." In your example, it's the son (or daughter) of the one who fell who invents the parachute. All generations after the fallen one benefit. (Yes, I know how and who invented the parachute and where it was first tested. The observation above is said just to be in line with the statement that precipitated it.) When someone on the list says something that you believe is absurd (or whatever), think for a moment, do you really understand what they trying to say? Some of us are just not as intellegent or articulate as you, Willie. Be a little more patient with us. Give what we say a little more thought. If you do, perhaps you can better understand where we've erred and why. Perhaps then you can correct us in a more kindly fashion.
