Well, by coincidence I just set up a Brother laserjet as a network
printer this evening. The hardest part was drilling a hole in the floor
to drop the network cable down into the basement and back up to the
router. (Thankfully the second hole up to the router was already in the
floor - remnants of an old steam heating system.)

As usually, the Win x64 machine was fussy about getting setup but
ultimately I managed to get all four PC's hooked into the printer via
the wireless network. MUCH more cost effective and way faster than the
inkjets it replaced.
