Thanks for all the comments!

I gave this scene a through photo-massage, with a
variety of angles and framings and exposures, and
liked this the best.  The compressed look was what I
was after.

Jostein is right, the lichens are light cyan; in fact,
the stones have a distinctly cyan cast to them, too. 
The colors are actually more saturated than they were
in real life.  Mark's rendition is too warm and too
saturated for me; it might be a "better" photo in some
respects, but it just didn't look like that.
