It's a pity about the medium format digital, but the simple fact is that photographers now have to lower their image quality expectations to meet the demands of the manufacturers, which is a 180 degree shift away from what we have been accustomed to over the past 150 years. I think it's sad that we now consider ourselves so lucky to be able to buy inferior equipment that we just go along with this sort of thing.
