That is absolutely true.

I laugh when I see people on multi-thousand dollar carbon-fibre and
titanium 16 pound bikes, that don't fit.

They're throwing their money away.  No matter how good or light or
stiff a bike it, if it doesn't fit, it won't be an efficient ride.
