Yes, the temperature on the mountain is always cooler than that in Linville or Boone, good locations for weather forecast data. I forgot to mention that but I was concerned mostly with precip, which is going to be generally similar throughout the area (or at least as accurately/inaccurately predicted!) Bring clothing for blazing summer heat, freezing cold, dry, windy and pouring rain.
